Chewy.com was founded by Ryan Cohen and Michael Day in 2011 and was acquired by PetSmart in 2017. Chewy.com has 13 fulfillment centers across the United States in addition to its headquarters in Dania Beach, FL. Current fulfillment center locations include Pennsylvania, Indiana, Texas, Nevada, and a new center in Arizona.
Chewy.com is an online pet food and supply retailer carrying items from over 1000 brands to cover everything a pet friend could want or need. There are no membership fees with Chewy.com. Items available to purchase online include dry and wet food, prescription food, litter, treats, supplements, toys, flea and tick care, dental chews, and the list goes on. Customers have the option of setting up an order as an auto-ship order during the checkout process. A customer choosing auto-ship will set their own order schedule, make changes, or cancel at any time. There is a current promotion to save 30% when a customer sets up their first auto-ship. Orders are shipped via FedEx and other premium carriers, and most customers receive their orders within 1-2 business days. Orders over $49 ship for free while all other orders are a flat shipping rate of $4.95.
Included on the site are free educational videos on how to keep our pet friends happy and healthy. Chewy.com has programs available for non-profit organizations and shelters that aid and support animal welfare. Chewy.com operates two licensed pharmacies to prescribe medications as needed.
