About Home Chef
Home Chef is a meal kit and delivery service. Home Chef delivers a box of pre-portioned ingredients that are ready to cook for a meal to customers. From distribution centers in Chicago, Los Angeles, and Lithonia, Georgia, Home Chef delivers meals in kits made of recyclable packaging. Meal kits include pre-portioned, ready to cook, ingredients with instructions for the meal. The menu rotates and includes up to 15 meals for dinner. Other menus include weekly breakfast, lunch, smoothie, and fruit basket options. The company was founded in 2013 by Patrick Vihelic in Chicago, Illinois, but was acquired by Kroger in 2018 to allow Kroger stores to stock Home Chef meal kits for individual purchase without a subscription.
